Breann Bierman-Vogt is a full-time mom, part-time journalist and communications professional and volunteer advocate for mothers and babies. Early in her career, she served as reporter, producer and digital editor for WEAU-TV in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She went on to work for WISC-TV and then served as digital director at WKOW-TV in Madison. An award-winning journalist, Breann next moved to Arizona where she worked for KPHO-TV in Phoenix as digital content manager. When her second son was born premature and spent 8 months in the NICU, Breann became part of their Parent Advisory Board, supporting families in the NICU. She now serves as chair of the board. She also became an active volunteer with the March of Dimes, supporting the health of all moms and babies. Breann’s family was selected as a March of Dimes Ambassador family in Arizona in 2017. Breann was selected nationally as a March of Dimes Gretchen Carlson Advocacy Fellow in 2018.

Bertram Jacobs, PhD is a professor of virology with the School of Life Sciences. He is also a member of Biodesign Institute's Center for Immunotherapy, Vaccines and Virotherapy, where his research is focused on developing a vaccine for HIV — one that prevents infection or extends the lives of HIV patients. Jacobs also leads a group of students every summer to sub-Saharan Africa to teach AIDS prevention to the international community.

Dr. Jacobs is one of the world’s foremost experts on a poxvirus called vaccinia, a cousin of the smallpox virus. He has genetically engineered vaccinia as a vehicle against a number of infectious agents, bioterrorism threats, cancer, and other viruses.

He also assists HIV/AIDS-related support organizations. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Aunt Rita’s Foundation, on the Advisory Board for Support for International Change, and on the Board of Directors for HEAL.

Dana Goodloe has been the Immunization Program Office Chief at the Arizona Department of Health Services since 2013. She has her BS in Organizational Behavior from Houghton College in New York. Dana has been working with the Department of Health Services in various roles for nearly 17 years. She has provided program management to the Women’s and Children’s Information hotlines, the High Risk Perinatal Program and the Nutrition Network, which provided nutrition education to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly Food Stamp population. In each case her role was to improve access to care and provide program oversight within the state of Arizona.

JoEllen Wolicki is a Nurse Educator with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, Communication and Education Branch. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Detroit/Mercy. Before joining CDC in 2010, she served for 14 years as a Nurse Consultant with the Michigan Department of Community Health Division of Immunization.

She worked with multiple program components including provider education and outreach, the statewide immunization information system and the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. At CDC, JoEllen serves as a committee member of several work groups for the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), contributes to the Epidemiology and Prevention of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases textbook (the Pink Book), and works on many immunization training and educational materials and programs.

Meagan Surgenor is the Special Programs Manager with the Arizona Immunization Program Office. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Human Development from Arizona State University and a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration. Before joining the Arizona Immunization Program office over 4 years ago, she worked for the Division of Developmental Disabilities for over 4 years working with children 0-3 years of age in the early intervention program.

Meagan oversees the Vaccines for Children, Vaccines for Adults and Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (IQIP) programs. Meagan supervises the Immunization Program Specialists who conduct compliance visits, unannounced storage and handling visits, and new staff/new provider visits as well as IQIP visits.

She also oversees the vaccine budgets for the Vaccines for Children, Vaccines for Adults and Children’s Health Insurance Plan programs to ensure that Arizona has access to vaccines for those who are eligible.
