COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Developed by noted copyright and intellectual property experts, this online, self-paced course addresses complex legal matters related to the use of copyrighted content in K-12 education to deliver instruction and enrich curriculum. The course covers the foundation of U.S. copyright law and is designed to help you build awareness of copyright and content use and enhance your copyright compliance program in an ever-evolving educational environment.

No prior knowledge of copyright law is required to take the course. Whether you are new to copyright or have some level of understanding, this course will help you feel more confident as you develop, or consider adopting, instructional materials for K-12 education.

Designed for individual learners or groups, Copyright Essentials for K-12 enables you to take the course at your own pace, stop and start instruction as needed, and assess your understanding of topics through a "Test Your Knowledge" activity following each section. This course does not currently qualify for Continuing Education Credits but provides a certificate of achievement with a passing score on the final review. After your registration is complete, you will receive an email in 1 - 3 business days with orientation information as well as your credentials to log in to the CCC ePortal.
