Substance Use Disorder Treatment Needs of the Elder Client

Lindy Lewis, PhD, LCSW-C received his BASW from Salisbury University, M.S.W. and PhD. at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. He has worked in the field of substance abuse and behavioral health treatment for over 38 years in a variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient and correctional settings with both adolescent and adult populations--serving in many roles from clinician to supervisor and administrator. Currently, he provides behavioral health consultation, therapy, psychosocial pain management and clinical hypnosis for patients in primary care facility and in private practice.He is a licensed social worker in Delaware, Maine, Maryland, and Virginia. Additionally, as time permits, he serves as a grant review panelist for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and Accreditation Surveying for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET).He is an adjunct faculty member in graduate programs for Social Work, Human Services, and Professional Counseling (Canada) teaching courses in clinical practice, psychopharmacology and research methods.
