Join us for the Hotspot Mapping Showcase to learn how local DV and SA centers are using hotspot mapping in their prevention initiatives.

Per Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, hotspot mapping is a participatory approach that involves characterizing features of the physical and social environment to inform targeted safety improvements. This innovative programming harnesses social and physical environments that have often been overlooked as agents of change (2020).

Essentially, hotspot mapping is a community-level strategy that allows preventionists to collect data that identifies physical areas in an environment where certain actions are occurring or how users of the physical environment perceive the space.

During this showcase, the participating DV and SA centers will briefly share:

How they got started
How they collected data
What they did after data was collected
What lessons they learned from this experience

This showcase is open to all center and coalition staff. It is most appropriate for preventionists.
