Course Description

Computer-assisted implant surgery protocols have higher trueness and precision compared to free-handed implant placement or restricted pilot guided placement. However, there are different guided systems available such as drill-body guided systems, key-on-drill systems or systems where a surgical key is necessary. Using the Bull’s eye diagrams, differences were noted in accuracy between the aforementioned systems, which can significantly affect the implant placement. The position of the sleeve cylinders is correlated with higher angular deviations. Angular deviations may occur at the crest or at the apex which can drastically affect the actual delivered position. Finally, clinicians should be cognizant of the strengths and weaknesses of their systems and be ready to accommodate any possible deviations/complications. This webinar will discuss the surgical pros and cons of several guided systems and some useful tips to avoid detrimental surgical outcomes.
