Course Description
This course is designed for clinicians with prior implant experience who are looking to expand into immediate implant placement and simple full‑arch treatment using implant‑supported overdentures. The program focuses on the biological, surgical, and restorative principles required to safely and predictably incorporate overdenture therapy into clinical practice.
Through a combination of didactic lectures and hands‑on learning, participants will review patient evaluation, case selection, and treatment planning for immediate implant placement in edentulous arches. Emphasis is placed on achieving primary stability, managing extraction sites, and understanding the role of implant number, position, and angulation in overdenture outcomes. Restorative concepts including attachment selection, prosthetic design, and long‑term maintenance will be covered to ensure functional and patient‑centered results.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify appropriate candidates for immediate implant placement and implant‑supported overdenture therapy
- Recognize surgical considerations for implant positioning, number of implants, and distribution to support predictable overdenture outcomes.
- Demonstrate foundational surgical and restorative techniques for implant‑supported overdentures during hands‑on training exercises.
- Apply maintenance and follow‑up protocols to support long‑term function and patient satisfaction.
