Overview
Welcome to Family Housing for Non-Stanford Students! Stanford offers summer housing for minors (under age 18) participating in on-campus programs. This option is intended to support families who need convenient, on-campus accommodations during the summer. All minors must reside with a parent or legal guardian for the entire stay, and adult supervision is required at all times in accordance with Stanford’s Protection of Minors Policy. Family housing is provided in a suite-style residence hall. Suites include multiple bedrooms and are designed to accommodate from three up to six occupants, offering a comfortable arrangement for families while meeting university requirements.
How to Apply
Step 1: Complete your registration.
Step 2: Download, complete, sign, and upload the three required documents.
Step 3: After submitting the required documents and agreeing to the housing policies, select your preferred check-in and check-out dates and choose your residence.
Key Information:
- Duration: Minimum stay of three (3) nights.
- Meals: Not included; residents can explore the various dining options on and around campus.
- No Smoking: Smoking is not allowed in any building or within 30 feet of any building entrance.
- No Pets: No pets are allowed, even for a visit.
- Dining Options: While meals are not included, there are several R&DE-operated cafés open during the summer, as well as other eateries located both on campus in the local Palo Alto community. Meal plans and Flex Dollars that can be used in R&DE-operated dining halls and cafés can be purchased in advance of arrival.
- Parking: Participants are eligible to purchase residential parking permits to park close to their campus residence.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Minor students (17 or younger) attending a summer program must live with an adult guardian; adult guardians are 18 years old or older.
- The program participant must show proof of registration or enrollment in a Stanford-approved summer program. Please review all required forms below.
- All occupants in family housing, including siblings, must be registered with the housing service center.
Nightly Rates:
- $242/night (3-night minimum) for a maximum of 3 people.
- $210/night ( 30+ nights) for a maximum of 3 people.
- Additional person: $79/person/night.
