Thursday July 23rd - Saturday 25th 2026

The LH Satellite meeting 2026 will take place at the University of Liverpool Guild of Students. This location is near to the rail station and conference centre of the ICPR26 event and has space for over 150 delegates and many posters. The event will include 7 scientific sessions, lots of time for posters and several keynote talks over 2.5 days (full programme, below). The registration fee includes refreshments at coffee breaks, lunches, two evening buffets, and a conference dinner.

We will bring together photosynthesis researchers with a specific interest in light harvesting from across the world. This will be a mix from senior to early-career researchers with opportunities to discuss the open questions and challenges in the field in a welcoming environment. All attendees will have the opportunity to submit abstracts, with some selected for talks and the remainder welcome to present posters. Please join us at this fantastic event!

Announcement of a special issue of the journal Photosynthesis Research:

"Advances in Light Harvesting: Structure, Dynamics, Photoprotection and Bioinspired Design"

This special collection explores research into any aspect of light harvesting in natural or artificial photosynthetic systems, including experimental, computational and/or theoretical research. The collection is aligned with and inspired by the “Light Harvesting satellite meeting” of International Conference on Photosynthesis Research (ICPR) 2026 in Liverpool, UK. The ICPR is the premier global event for photosynthesis research, taking place once every four years, and there has always been a satellite meeting that focuses on light harvesting – long may this continue!
