Location Information

Located within Pittsburgh’s Technology Center along the Monongahela River, The Riviera has emerged as a growing life sciences and biotech innovation hub anchored by UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, UPMC Enterprises, and the University of Pittsburgh ecosystem. The ~150,000 SF facility has been transformed into a modern laboratory environment featuring wet labs, cleanroom capabilities, and flexible office space designed to support early-stage through translational research companies.

The building houses a mix of academic and venture-backed biotech tenants focused on next-generation therapeutics, particularly in oncology, immunology, and precision medicine. Notable tenants include BlueSphere Bio, which is advancing engineered T-cell receptor therapies for cancer; Novasenta, a UPMC-backed company developing immunotherapies targeting the tumor microenvironment; and Innovation Labs, which supports startup formation and commercialization of university-driven discoveries. The Riviera also supports translational research efforts tied directly to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center labs, providing integrated space where academic investigators and industry scientists work in close proximity to accelerate the path from bench to bedside.

Immediately adjacent, Bridgside Labs and the surrounding Pittsburgh Technology Center expand this cluster with additional tenants including Noveome Biotherapeutics, University of Pittsburgh Aging Institute, and the University of Pittsburgh Center for Craniofacial and Dental Genetics, further strengthening the concentration of translational and preclinical research activity in the corridor.

This ecosystem is further complemented by nearby institutions such as the Magee-Womens Research Institute, one of the nation’s largest research institutes focused on women’s health, and The Assembly, a 250,000 SF life sciences facility housing the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Immunology and precision medicine programs.

The Scientist Solution sales method commercialized in 2003 as a result of the Founder's own experience seeing triple digit annual growth. Being on site in or near the labs is the single most efficient way of reaching your customer. Cold calling is inefficient and expensive. In one 90 minute to 2 hour event expect better results than a week or two of cold calling. National conferences are excellent for brand visibility but few scientists remember the conversations they had at any of the booths no matter how great the product. It is not unusual to see orders even before you do your follow-up!
