Support local ecosystems and protect water resources with Watershed-Friendly Plant Kits, designed to help you add native plants to your property for habitat creation, stormwater management, pollution reduction, and other essential ecological benefits. Offered in partnership with the Penn State Extension Master Watershed Steward program and Nurture Nature Center, these kits align with the Watershed-Friendly Certification focus areas and make it easier than ever to enhance your landscape’s environmental value. Each kit includes carefully selected plant plugs grown by Kind Earth Growers using locally collected, open-pollinated seeds and a 50 percent peat-free growing medium. Smaller than typical nursery plants, these plugs are easy to transport and plant within existing vegetation and are grown with healthy root systems to establish quickly this fall—ensuring robust growth in the seasons to come.

Plant plugs will be between less than an inch to several inches tall, and the roots will be between 1-3 inches in plastic wells. Please see the resources for plug care and planting instructions.
