Course Description:
This 2-Day course provides in-depth discussion of the techniques associated with properly installing a M- or P-Series system. Participants gain hands-on experience with system controller operation and setup as well as analyzing diagnostic feedback from indoor units. The course also focuses on the service and troubleshooting of M- and P-Series systems. Instruction details the operational sequence of both electrical and refrigerant circuits. The resources and techniques to troubleshoot M- and P-series systems are discussed and reinforced with practical hands-on exercises.
Objectives
- Review the six-step installation process including refrigerant charge, DIP switches, and jumper settings
- Explain system start-up, warranty terms, and product registration procedures
- Discuss the operation, features, and function buttons of system controllers
- Examine the functional operation of a system by tracing both the electrical and refrigerant paths
- Review R-454B refrigerant updates
- Explain the steps to perform preventive maintenance on system components
- Examine the use of mode recall, fault codes, test point diagrams, service tools, and controllers to troubleshoot system operation
