This Quarter's Topic
Implementing AI with Confidence: A CFO's Playbook for Scaling AI Adoption
AI adoption often stalls not because the tools are weak, but because CFOs and controllers lack a clear path from first experiment to organization-wide use. In this session, I'll share a practical framework for leading AI adoption at scale, covering the landscape of finance relevant tools, from general purpose AI assistants to the AI features built into Excel, Copilot, and major ERPs such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, and Workday. You'll leave with a framework for evaluating and prioritizing your own AI use cases, along with the policy and governance considerations to have in place as adoption grows.
Learning objectives:
- Identify the key stages of AI adoption at the CFO level and where most organizations get stuck moving from pilot to scale
- Apply a use case prioritization framework to distinguish quick wins from complex, higher effort implementations
- Compare where general purpose AI assistants, Excel/Copilot features, and ERP native AI tools each fit in a finance team's workflow
- Outline the policy and governance considerations finance leaders should have in place before scaling AI use across a team
Anna Tiomina is a CFO and founder of Blend2Balance, where she trains and advises finance leaders on how to use AI, primarily Claude, in their day-to-day work, including building AI-powered workflows for their teams. She currently serves as a fractional CFO at a medical device startup and previously held CFO roles at Softeq and Market and Cluster CFO roles at Sandoz (Novartis Group).
With 15+ years of finance leadership experience, Anna teaches CFOs, controllers, FP&A and accounting teams how to apply Claude to forecasting, reporting, reconciliation, and analysis. She uses AI in her own CFO work every day, and teaches what actually holds up in practice.
Anna holds an MBA from Vienna University of Economics and Business and completed a postgraduate program in Artificial Intelligence for Leaders from the University of Texas at Austin.
