Course Description: This continuing education course is designed for medical and rehabilitation professionals—including athletic trainers, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and physicians—seeking advanced knowledge in the evaluation and management of figure skaters. The course provides a comprehensive framework for understanding the unique biomechanical, physical, and training demands of figure skating.

Participants will learn evidence-informed assessment strategies specific to figure skaters, including the identification of postural demands, strength asymmetries, jump and landing mechanics, rotational control, balance, and mobility requirements unique to the sport. Clinicians will also learn how to translate on-ice skating skills and technical elements into meaningful off-ice assessment findings and rehabilitation strategies.

This course is appropriate for clinicians working in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, performing arts medicine, and athletic performance settings who wish to enhance care for figure skating athletes.
