The IIA Northwest Ohio Chapters invite you to our November 2026 Chapter meeting.

We are proud to welcome Dr. Donnie Wendt who will be presenting When AI Starts Taking Action: Securing the Emerging AI Action Plane.

AI is rapidly evolving from systems that generate information to systems that can act. Agentic AI can interact with applications, invoke tools, access enterprise data, execute workflows, and perform tasks on behalf of users and organizations. This emerging AI Action Plane introduces new cybersecurity, risk, and governance challenges centered on identity, authorization, trust, and accountability.

This session explores how organizations can securely enable AI systems to act within enterprise environments while maintaining appropriate control and oversight. Attendees will learn about the security implications of agentic AI, emerging technologies such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and a practical framework built around three fundamental questions: Who is acting? What are they allowed to do? How do we know what happened? The session concludes with practical considerations for securing AI-enabled actions through identity-centric controls, constrained execution, and continuous assurance.

The hybrid presentation will last approximately 1 hours which includes some time for Q&A.  The presentation will begin at 12:00 pm.
