About the Conference

Queensland Foster and Kinship Care (QFKC) is hosting the National Foster and Kinship Care  Conference which brings together the people who hold the foster and kinship care system together - carers, practitioners, policy leaders, researchers, community organisations, and government  decision-makers across Australia. 

Let’s Talk is the theme for the 2026 conference, let’s talk about what’s challenging, let’s talk about how carers can navigate a complex system, let’s talk about the real needs of carer household’s and let’s talk about, how together we can ensure children receive what they need. Let’s talk about the great things that happen every day. Let’s talk about creating real change.

This conference will be a space for honesty, collaboration, and action - where carers, professionals and communities unite to celebrate successes, learn, network, laugh, confront challenges and shape a better future for children and carer families.
