The Grantmakers In Health (GIH) Annual Conference on Health Philanthropy is the largest gathering of health funders in the country and the best place to meet up with the bright minds, seasoned experts, and innovative practitioners working in health philanthropy today.

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Health

Two hundred and fifty years ago America’s founders came together to say the current system of government was not working for them. This act sparked the birth of a new nation founded on principles of freedom, equality, and democracy. The document they signed clearly articulates the founders’ belief in the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Health—and the ability to lead a healthy and productive life—is deeply intertwined with these ideals.

Today, cuts to critical health and social programs; attacks on freedom of speech; threats to non-profit organizations; and federal overreach threaten our fundamental freedoms as well as our health and well-being. The 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding is an ideal backdrop for us to come together and craft a vision for health that works for everyone.

The conference will be held in-person on June 8 - 11, 2026 in Maryland at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor.

Post-Conference: Advancing Rural Health and Well-being in Uncertain Times

With the ever-shifting political, social, and economic landscape, rural communities are experiencing new levels of upheaval and uncertainty. Now is the time for philanthropy to come together to not only learn from one another about what is working in rural but also identify what is needed going forward for these communities.

Join us for a critical post-conference session that will provide a timely opportunity for funders of all levels of experience and interest in rural to connect with one another, share strategies and lessons learned, identify the key ingredients needed for local-national collaboration, discuss the current opportunities for advancing health and well-being in rural (including the federal Rural Transformation Program), and explore what philanthropy needs to prioritize and do differently to empower innovation that will lead to healthy, thriving rural communities.

This post-conference session includes a dinner program.
