REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
If you would like to register as a competitor for RoboCup 2026, please follow the instructions below. We strongly encourage everyone to register as early as possible. Nobody will be admitted to the site and to the team areas until they are fully registered and all payments have been received.
Registration as team participants
Only qualified teams can register, so please wait until your league qualifies the teams, and your team will be available at CVENT. Once your team is qualified, we will mail the registration sign-up to the team leader. Registration proceeds separately for each qualified team and team members. When completing the "Major Team" registration, you need to provide the information for a "point of contact" for the team. Please note that the person serving as the point of contact was not registered then; only the team was registered.
In addition to registering your team, all team leaders must register as "Faculty/Staff" or "Student" participants in Major leagues and as a "Mentor" in the Junior leagues, as they are the authorized individuals to retrieve the registration package on-site on behalf of the team.
Please note that all registrations require a separate valid email address and are only complete when full payment is received. Credit card payments are immediately validated, so we strongly recommend payment by credit card. The other available method of payment takes time.
Participants from countries requiring visas will need an invitation letter. Once registration and payment are complete, the invitation letter will be emailed to the participants. Please wait 2 to 3 days for us to process your registration fully. If you have any questions, please email registration@robocup.org.
Major Leagues
Qualified teams are organized by league. Major teams can register only until June 2nd, 2026, and team members can register after their team registration is complete.
*Major Individual – Faculty members who do not have teams but wish to take part in the competition can register as non-participants. There is no requirement for them to register a team in advance. These participants are welcome to attend all social events but are not allowed to enter team areas and will not receive a RoboCup 2026 certificate.
Junior Leagues
Before registering your Junior team, you must ensure the team is qualified. Please contact your RoboCupJunior regional representative for all questions concerning qualification.
Junior teams must have at least one mentor and two student members to register. We strongly recommend teams register all team students at once.
Parents or other mentors need to register as Junior parents/chaperones for permission to enter the site at any time, be admitted to certain restricted areas, and participate in social events. The team's work area is not accessible at any time. Parents accompanying their children who want to visit the site only during public access hours and only in areas open to the public do not need to register but buy a visitor ticket.
Here is some important information about the RoboCupJunior registration:
Age Restrictions:
- All Junior Student members should be between 14 and 19 years old as of July 1.
- All Junior Mentors and Parent/Chaperones should be 19 and older.
Registration Type Restrictions:
- RoboCupJunior Rescue and Soccer should have 2 to 4 members, and OnStage between 2 to 5 members.
- Rapidly Manufactured Robot Challenge should have 2 to 6 members.
- Junior teams must have at least one Junior Mentor. There is a limit of two Junior Mentors and six Junior Parent/ Chaperones.
- As a reminder, a Junior Parent/Chaperone is a responsible adult who accompanies and supervises the team members.
Registration as a Symposium-only participant
Invitation letters to symposium-only participants are issued to those with accepted publications. On the registration website, choose "Symposium Only Faculty/Staff" ($380) or "Symposium Only Student" ($245). All registered team members are automatically admitted to the Symposium, and they do not need to register separately.
Payment methods
Our registration website offers the following payment options:
- Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX). This is the preferred method.
- Wire Transfer (USD). Available only until June 2nd, 2026. Wire transfer should be used in exceptional cases only if credit card payment is not possible.
Which fee you pay is determined by when your payment arrives, not when you register or when you send it. To qualify for a given rate, the full amount due must reach the bank account in US Dollars on or before that rate's deadline. Transfers can take several days to settle, and intermediary bank charges can reduce the amount that arrives — please allow for both, and don't send a transfer close to a deadline.
If the full amount arrives after a deadline, your registration is not lost: it moves to the next rate, and you pay the difference. A difference can be paid by credit card even after wire transfers have closed, because that completes an existing payment rather than starting a new one.
To help us match your payment, please send your wire transfer transaction information to registration@robocup.org. Wire transfer payments will be deactivated after June 2nd, 2026.
Visas and cancellation policy
Participants from some countries require a visa for Republic of Korea. Once the team registration and member registration have been completed (received and paid in total), an invitation letter will be sent to those who requested one.
If your visa application is unsuccessful and your registration was completed (i.e., the payment received) by May 4th, 2026, and your cancellation is requested on or before June 2nd, 2026, then the total registration amount will be refunded, except for a handling charge of $100 per person, and $100 for the team if the team is also canceled. Otherwise, there is no refund.
