It is recommended that students enrolling in a Fundamentals of Energy Efficient Building Operations course have a high school diploma or GED.

Students with a year of experience and successful completion of the course (earning the Fundamentals Certificate) meet the eligibility requirements for BOC Level I.

Information for classes delivered via Zoom:

  • Students are expected to attend each class via Zoom, at the designated time.
  • Students are expected to participate on each class date from a quiet, interruption-free, location that allows for online interaction with other participants.
  • Course requires completion of an open-book Knowledge Check at the end of the last class day. All participants will take the test using an online format. A URL, username and password will be provided to all participants. An instructor evaluation for each day will also be provided using the same online platform. In order to earn your credential, you must pass the Knowledge Check with a score of 70% or higher and complete the evaluation for each class.
  • Students must have access to a laptop, tablet, or desktop that supports high speed audio/video streaming.  A microphone or telephone is required.  A camera is strongly recommended.
  • Students are expected to actively participate in class. Peer to peer exchange is a hallmark of BOC courses and increases understanding and retention of the concepts presented.
