About the Meeting

The Critical Materials Innovation (CMI) Hub will host the 2026 CMI Annual Meeting from Tuesday, September 15 to Thursday, September 17 in Livermore, CA. The meeting will include plenary talks, project poster sessions, and technical discussions.

The meeting is open to CMI Team Members and Affiliates actively involved in CMI projects. Team Members should travel to Livermore on Monday, September 14 for meetings early on Tuesday. Affiliates are invited to join the meeting for the poster session on Tuesday afternoon and are encouraged to stay for the rest of the meeting. A full agenda will be posted as soon as it becomes available

At-a-glance Agenda 

Day 1: Tues., Sept. 15
Location: University of California Livermore Collaboration Center (2500 Greenville Rd., Livermore, CA 94550, for GPS use only.)

• Team Members: Meetings begin at 8 a.m., coffee and light breakfast available starting at 7:30 a.m.
• Affiliate Members: Join us from 4 - 6 p.m. for the poster session and hors-d'oeuvres reception, featuring Developing Substitutes, Crosscutting Research, and our Industry Partners.
• An optional Group Dinner will be held at 3 Steves Winery at 6:30 p.m. Advance registration and $38 payment is required.

Day 2: Wed., Sept. 16
Location: Garre’ Vineyard & Winery (7986 Tesla Rd., Livermore, CA 94550) 

• Team and Affiliate Members: Meetings begin at 8 a.m., coffee available starting at 7:30 a.m. (no breakfast)
• 4 - 6 p.m., poster session and hors-d'oeuvres reception, featuring Enhancing and Diversifying Supply, Unlocking Secondary Sources, and the 2026 CMI Summer Interns

Day 3: Thurs., Sept. 17
Location: Garre’ Vineyard & Winery (7986 Tesla Rd., Livermore, CA 94550) 

• Team and Affiliate Members: Meetings begin at 8 a.m., coffee available starting at 7:30 a.m. (no breakfast)
• Formal meeting to adjourn at 11:30 a.m. Optional tours will be available but must be registered in advance.

Fee Breakdown:

• CMI Team Members - $275 (Tues. All Day - Thurs., $94.00 for food, $181 for meeting beverages and meeting facilitation)
• CMI Affiliates - $220 (Tues. PM - Thurs., $51 for food, $169 for meeting beverages and meeting facilitation)
