Description: The Exemplar Online Courses for Observation program showcases outstanding online faculty, courses, instructional design, and campuses, nominated by SUNY campus-based online instructional designers. SUNY Online courses are showcased for observation as exemplary models as you create your own online course, or as a resource for instructional designers as you work with new and experienced online faculty. These courses demonstrate approaches to course content layout in Brightspace, design of interaction, criteria for assessment/evaluation, instructions, and some creative ways to implement a variety of online learning activities and objectives.
Join us for a tour of select courses featured by this program led by the instructors who designed them with the opportunity for question and answer.

Description: The SUNY Online Teaching OSCQR Awards recognize excellence in implementing the OSCQR online course quality rubric and process. These awards celebrate effective, creative and/or innovative practices that enhance online course design and continuous improvement. Awards are conferred annually in three categories:
- Institutional Excellence Award - Recognizes institutions that have effectively targeted online quality initiatives and embedded the OSCQR rubric into their quality assurance practices, resulting in notable enhancements to online quality, online faculty development, and learner success.
- Program Innovation Award - Recognizes programs that have demonstrated innovative applications of the OSCQR rubric, improving the quality and delivery of courses through creative approaches.
- Individual Achievement Award - Recognizes individuals who have applied OSCQR successfully and promoted its implementation, showcasing leadership and innovation in online course design.
In this session, participants will hear from the 2025 OSCQR Award winners and learn about their innovative approaches to integrating course quality into their courses, programs, and institutional practices.

Description: Brightspace (BSP) has a wide variety of tools and efficiencies that streamline grading practices for faculty - making it easier to provide authentic, formative, and timely feedback. This workshop covers many of these tools and strategies including:
- Rubrics
- Using rubrics to provide guidelines and insights for students as they work to complete assignments.
- Using rubrics to provide feedback to students.
- BSP Grading tools & strategies
- Exploring the full functionality of the BSP gradebook, and trouble-shooting issues commonly encountered by students and faculty.
- Examining the Quick Eval tool in BSP to determine how it saves faculty time and effort in the grading process.
- Maximizing various tools within BSP to efficiently and effectively communicate goals & progress to students.

Description: Generative AI has posed huge challenges to academic integrity as students have started to submit work that is partially or fully generated by AI. These challenges are especially difficult to navigate in the online environment. This presentation will explore the relationship between generative AI and academic integrity from an information literacy perspective. It will include practical suggestions for application in online teaching.
