All registrations are pending until approved by AFVi. Once your registration request has been reviewed, you will receive notification of your status via email. 

Once you receive your login credentials, you will have 30 days to complete each course, followed by 15 days to complete the exam.

NGV Essentials and Safety Practices E-Learning teaches technicians and support team members the fundamentals of working with natural gas as a vehicle fuel in CNG and LNG fuel systems. Natural gas vehicles have unique components and require special safety procedures for all levels of routine maintenance, diagnostics and repair. This on-demand e-learning course takes approximately 3 hours to complete.

CNG Fuel System Inspector Training E-Learning ensures technicians are adequately trained to properly conduct CNG fuel system inspections according to all current codes, standards and industry best practices. It also helps prepare technicians for the CNG Fuel System Inspector Certification Exam.

This on-demand e-learning course  includes practical application activities, knowledge checks and a final exam. The training is broken into smaller learning modules and will take approximately 7 hours to complete.

Online AFVi CNG Fuel System Inspector Certification Exam

AFVi's CNG Fuel System Inspector Certification Exam provides an independent assessment of the knowledge and application of skills necessary for technicians to competently conduct a CNG fuel system inspection according to all applicable codes and standards, and industry best practices.

The exam consists of 60 multiple choice questions and must be completed with a two-hour period. Within two weeks of completing the exam, participants will be notified via email of their results. To obtain certification, AFVi requires a minimum score of 80%. Certification is valid for five years.

The online exam is electronically proctored by an automated exam proctoring solution. Exam participants must complete an authentication process prior to the exam. Throughout the exam, the proctoring software will monitor for behaviors typically associated with cheating.

Exam Requirements:

To complete the online exam, you must have:

• The ability to download a small program.
• A reliable computer or laptop that meets necessary system requirements.
• A webcam and microphone connected to or built-in to a computer or laptop.
• A reliable high-speed internet connection.
• A valid photo ID.
• A quiet, well-lit room.
• The ability to remain seated for the duration of the exam.

Program participants must be at least 18 years of age.
