Highlights of the 2021 WA Guidelines for the Assessment, Remediation and Management of Asbestos Contaminated Sites

In August 2021 WA Department of Health released the long-awaited update to the Guidelines for the Assessment, Remediation and Management of Asbestos Contaminated Sites in Western Australia. This presentation will cover the highlights of the revised guidelines including the key changes and guidance from initial site assessment to final remediation and reporting.

Ian Gregson has over 30 years’ experience in a range of engineering and environmental fields, including over 18 years involvement with assessment and management of contaminated sites. Extensive experience in contamination assessment, remediation or management strategies, both from a consulting and an auditor’s perspective. Projects have involved soil, groundwater and vapour contamination, hazardous materials (eg. asbestos) and removal of infrastructure, as well as site audits and projects such as site investigations, environmental monitoring and assessment and remediation strategies for landfills and contaminated sites.
