"Active and Passive ROM-Stretching" with Christy Miller

Students will have a better understanding of effective stretching techniques. Students will understand research-based benefits of stretching, gaining insights into how stretching contributes to flexibility, injury prevention, and overall musculoskeletal health. Students will recall both local and absolute contraindications associated with active and passive range of motion. Students will demonstrate proper draping techniques in prone, supine, and side-lying positions promoting a respectful and professional environment in practical demonstration.

"Releasing the Grip of Anxiety in the Respiratory System" with Cynthia Ribiero

The neurobiological relationship between anxiety and respiration How dysfunctional breathing reinforces neuromuscular holding patterns Assessment strategies for identifying breath-related muscular tension Effective neuromuscular and myofascial techniques to restore respiratory function How to communicate about breath and anxiety in a trauma-aware, client-centered way.

Sunday, October 18th: 9am-6pm

"Therapeutic Taping" with Christy Miller

By the end of this course students should be able to: 1. Describe taping therapy 2. Recall research-based benefits 3. Understand adverse effects and contraindications 4. Identify and select different types of tape 5. understand items needed 6. Practice guidelines for safe practice of taping therapy 7. Perform taping layouts on the knee, ankle, and wrist

"Precision in Motion: MET for Myofacial Dysfunction" with Cynthia Ribiero

Define and explain the physiological principles behind Muscle Energy Techniques, including post-isometric relaxation and reciprocal inhibition. Identify common patterns of myofascial dysfunction through postural observation, range of motion testing, and palpatory assessment. Demonstrate accurate application of MET protocols for key anatomical regions, including the pelvis, lumbar spine, thoracic spine, cervical spine, and shoulder girdle. Modify MET application based on client presentation, tissue responsiveness, and phase of healing to ensure safe and effective outcomes.Integrate MET with neuromuscularmassage therapy techniques to address myofacial restrictions, improve proprioceptive awareness, and enhance functional movement. Apply clinical reasoning to choose appropriate MET strategies based on assessment findings and therapeutic goals. Communicate effectively with clients to foster engagement in active techniques and support collaborative treatment planning.
