Prerequisite
To get the most out of this training, participants are strongly encouraged to have previously completed Check & Connect® Preparation & Implementation (P&I) Training or Mentor Training. Prior Check & Connect® training provides essential background on the model and its core components.
Participants who have not yet completed prior training are encouraged to visit the training page on the Check & Connect® website to explore available training options and determine the best fit for their needs.
Learning Objectives
Participants will:
- Explain the purpose, core components, and evidence behind Check & Connect® and its role within a multitiered system of supports (MTSS).
- Describe the responsibilities of a Check & Connect® Coordinator and how effective coordination strengthens implementation and student outcomes.
- Interpret student-level data to support mentor decision-making and intervention planning.
- Analyze mentor practices using evidence-based tools to identify strengths, areas for growth, and fidelity, in order to guide targeted coaching.
- Evaluate site-level systems and design strategies that strengthen stakeholder engagement, support continuous improvement, and promote sustainable implementation.
- Develop a site-specific action plan with short- and long-term goals to guide and enhance Check & Connect® implementation.
