The Illinois Resource Center, in collaboration with the Multilingual/Language Development Department of the Illinois State Board of Education, is proud to present the Twentieth Annual Statewide Summit for Bilingual Parents: A Conference for members of Bilingual Parent Advisory Councils (BPACs) and parents of English Learners (ELs). This conference will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Tinley Park Convention Center, 18451 Convention Center Drive in Tinley Park, Illinois from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In sessions throughout the day, conference presenters will address various important topics to help BPAC members in their roles and responsibilities. These topics include: equitable funding and services for ELs; family engagement; Pre-K—Grade 12 educational programs and services; higher education opportunities; parental leadership and advocacy; and immigrant and community issues. Interpreters will be available in various languages including Spanish, Polish and Arabic. At registration, it is important that you indicate if you will need an interpreter and in which language. Schedule of the Day: Check in will begin at 7:30 am. Breakfast buffet available 7:30 am to 9 am. Toltec Movement session 8:00 am to 8:30 am Conference activities begin at 9:00 am and end by 3:15 pm. A reception for all participants ends the day, from 3:15 pm to 4:30 pm. Registration - $30 per person. Visa/Mastercard and Purchase Orders accepted. No refunds. Space is limited. Districts may register up to 8 people to attend: 6 bilingual PAC members and 2 school representatives. Breakfast and Lunch are included. Registration and substitution deadline: April 17, 2026. There is a block of sleeping rooms available for May 1 at a discounted rate of $159 plus taxes/fees . Deadline for room reservation is April 17, 2026.
