Earn Your Designation

The Certified IRA Specialist II (CIS II) is offered online after the conference. If you’ve registered for the exam, when you arrive at Ascend, you’ll receive a printed study guide that contains the recommended courses to best help you prepare. There will also be an additional exam prep workshop at the end of the conference.

Why get certified

The CIS II demonstrates expertise in a variety of advanced IRA transactions—including excess contributions, recharacterizations, rollovers and transfers, required minimum distributions, conversions, beneficiary claim processes, and withholding.

Who should take the exam

You are not required to have first earned your CIS I designation to earn the CIS II designation. However, it is recommended to have at least two years of IRA compliance or operations experience.
