Denise E. Backhouse | Co-President, Board of Directors & Founding Member

Denise E. Backhouse is a Shareholder and eDiscovery Counsel at Littler Mendelson, P.C. Her practice focuses on litigating the eDiscovery aspects of complex labor and employment disputes, leveraging her significant international experience to help clients with cross-border discovery and investigations. Denise is a frequent author, speaker, and lecturer on cross-border data protection and privacy, emerging tech, privilege, and ethics.

Ellen Blanchard | Board of Directors

As senior counsel at Norton Rose Fulbright, Ellen Blanchard has extensive experience advising global companies on how to manage and protect mission-critical data by developing information governance and AI policies and procedures, spearheading strategic data minimization projects and managing cybersecurity incident response efforts around the world. Recognized as an expert in US discovery, Ellen has helped numerous clients respond to discovery requests both in the US and in UK, including data that needed to be transferred to different jurisdictions. Prior to joining Norton Rose Fulbright, Ellen served as Director of Discovery and Information Governance at T-Mobile where she was responsible for developing the strategic vision for discovery and providing leadership in managing the company's data and discovery.

Kevin Brady | Treasurer & Founding Member

Kevin F. Brady is the Deputy Executive Director of The Sedona Conference. Kevin has extensive experience providing advice and counsel on electronic discovery, electronic information management, data privacy, and data security issues. He also advised companies on records retention and information governance programs, compliance with eDiscovery demands, and the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to the deployment of technology solutions.

In addition to having served as an expert witness and Special Discovery Master on issues related to electronic discovery, Kevin lectures and publishes extensively in the areas of eDiscovery, records management, data privacy, data security, attorney competence, and legal ethics.

Kevin received a J.D. from Widener University School of Law (magna cum laude), an M.B.A. from Widener University, and a B.A. from the University of Delaware. He serves as Chair Emeritus of The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 on Electronic Document Retention and Production (WG1) Steering Committee. Kevin is also Co-Chair Emeritus of the Georgetown University Law Center’s Advisory Board for the Advanced E-Discovery Institute and former Co-Chair of the Delaware Supreme Court’s Commission on Law and Technology. He is a founding member and Past President of the Richard K. Herrmann Technology Inn of Court in Wilmington, Delaware.

Eleonor Duhs | Board of Directors

Eleonor Duhs is a partner in Marks & Clerk's AI, cyber security, and data legal advisory practice in London. She is a barrister and the Head of Data & Privacy. Eleonor was a senior UK government lawyer prior to moving into private practice. She was the UK government’s lead lawyer in the negotiations on the GDPR.

She advised on EU and international law at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. She also led on the core provisions of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 in the Department for Exiting the European Union as well as aspects of the EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement, and the Framework for the Future EU-UK relationship.

Eleonor has given evidence to the UK Parliament on data protection and is frequently invited to speak at international conferences and to comment on data protection and the UK’s post-Brexit legal frameworks in the national media. She is currently co-authoring a second edition of her well-received book on Brexit: Retained EU Law: a Practical Guide and a book on AI regulation.

Natascha Gerlach | Board of Directors and Founding Member

Natascha Gerlach holds the position of Director of Privacy Policy for the Center of information Policy Leadership (CIPL) in Brussels. Her work is focused on a range of privacy and data related topics including cross-border data flows, AI, Privacy Enhancing Technologies, children’s data privacy, data ethics and data governance. Before joining CIPL, Natascha was a Senior Attorney with Cleary Gottlieb in their Brussels office, where she headed Cleary’s European eDiscovery group leveraging her experience in US eDiscovery by implementing new technologies and operationalizing the team. Natascha was also a senior member of Cleary’s Data Privacy group and advised clients on a wide array of data privacy issues, with a special focus on the cross section of international discovery and data protection. Natascha is Chair Emerita of The Sedona Conference Working Group 6 on International Electronic Information Management, Discovery and Disclosure (WG6) Steering Committee. She is on the advisory board for the Georgetown Law AEDI and has been on the ABA CBI Steering Committee since its inception in 2017. Natascha publishes regularly on data protection topics and is a frequent speaker at relevant conferences.

Shameka Glover | Board of Directors

Shameka Glover is the Chief of Staff at iDiscovery Solutions (iDS), a people-driven, emotionally intelligent leader with decades of experience in professional services, including 12+ in the eDiscovery industry. She serves as a strategic partner focused on aligning culture, engagement, and operations to elevate both the employee and client experience. A dynamic force with magnetic energy, Shameka is a passionate advocate for all voices in the industry and is committed to building inclusive, connected environments where everyone can thrive.

Taylor Hoffman | Co-President & Founding Member

Taylor M. Hoffman is Senior Vice President and Senior Legal Counsel—Litigation at Swiss Re. His practice includes a wide variety of litigations and investigations, as well as counseling on cybersecurity and ESG matters. Taylor is chair emeritus of The Sedona Conference® Working Group Six, had previously practiced at both Debevoise & Plimpton and Covington & Burling, and clerked for the Honorable Emilio M. Garza of the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Cecil A. Lynn III | Board of Directors & Founding Member

Cecil Lynn is a highly-regarded thought leader in the areas of A.I., data privacy, security and digital discovery. He was named an “A.I. Visionary” by Relativity and "In-House Counsel of the Year" by Arizona Business Magazine in conjunction with the Arizona State Bar and the Association of Corporate Counsel.

He is currently AI Product and Privacy Counsel for Certos, an Early Warning company where his work focuses on legal governance for AI models and providing product guidance related to privacy and data security.

Cecil previously served as Assistant General Counsel, Senior Director and Global Head of eDiscovery and Technology at PayPal and prior to that was the Director of Information Governance and eDiscovery at eBay. Cecil has "BigLaw" experience as a former Shareholder at Littler.

Cecil spent several years as an Entertainment and Sports Lawyer in Los Angeles which led to a General Counsel role for fashion icon, Karl Kani. Prior to that, he was a Trial Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division in Washington, DC.

Cecil is AI TRUST certified through Global Data Innovation and an IAPP Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional.
