A special focus of this year's program is brain health. Through presentations and meaningful discussions from leading experts and researchers, we will explore the latest understanding of cognitive health and share strategies to support quality of life during and after cancer treatment.

Cancer survivorship is a unique and ongoing journey. Survivors often face physical, emotional, and practical challenges that require continued support, understanding, and care. Yet many patients and families are unsure of what survivorship truly means, what to expect, or where to turn for help.

This symposium is designed to empower individuals and families living with cancer by providing education, connection, and access to resources. Whether you are newly diagnosed, long finished with treatment, or anywhere in between, this event offers a space to learn from experts and discover supportive services available in your community.

At the same time, this symposium offers healthcare professionals the opportunity to deepen their understanding of survivorship care - learning about best practices, evolving definitions, and the tools needed to better support their patients throughout and beyond treatment.

Dr. Mohile's Keynote Presentation:
Brain Health in Cancer: The Next Step in Survivorship

Nimish A. Mohile, MD, MS, FAAN, is the Ann Aresty Camhi Professor of Neurology at the University of Rochester, where he serves as division chief of neuro-oncology. Following training at Northwestern University and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, he built a multidisciplinary brain tumor program that has grown into a comprehensive cancer neurology service addressing the full spectrum of neurologic complications faced by cancer patients.

His research focuses on patient-centered supportive care interventions including geriatric assessment, chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy and advanced care planning, that preserve neurologic function and quality of life throughout the cancer journey. He led the development of international glioma treatment guidelines for the American Society of Clinical Oncology and co-chaired the first international guidelines for older adults with glioblastoma.

At the American Academy of Neurology, he served as Neuro-oncology Section Chair and currently serves on the AAN Board of Directors, where he contributes to the national conversations shaping the future of neurology, brain health and health equity.
