Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are thrilled to announce that the 2027 Controversies in Perioperative Medicine Conference will take place in Puglia, Italy, May 2027. Once again, we raise the bar for outstanding Continuing Medical Education combined with fabulous hiking and cycling, great food and wine.

We will be based in the beautiful Tenuta Monacelle in sunny Puglia, Italy, from May 16–22, 2027.  The estate was founded by the Benedictine nuns of the St. Joseph of Monopoli in 1790. The historical structure of the estate has been preserved but modernized, maintaining the charm of an eighteenth-century village.

We have booked the entire estate (that includes 6 farms) including a beautiful outdoor pool. Tenuta Monacelle offers seven magnificent trulli, conical dry-stone buildings, all furnished in epoch style with a cozy atmosphere. In addition, there are masserias built of Salento tufa (porous, calcareous limestone) typical of the region. 

Cycling in Puglia is an adventure through sun-drenched landscapes, charming villages, and stunning coastal views, offering an unforgettable blend of nature and culture. The hiking offers trails through olive groves and towns seemingly plucked from a storybook.

As always, we will eat and drink well.  Puglia is renowned for its gastronomic delights.   Eating in Puglia involves enjoying delicious dishes rooted in cucina povera, focusing on fresh, local ingredients. And of course, Puglia is a major wine-producing region known for its full-bodied, fruit-forward reds and high-quality whites.

We take pride in delivering an outstanding medical educational program–with expert speakers, controversial topics and engaged participants.  The multidisciplinary program ensures fascinating interactive sessions.

We are delighted to work with Butterfield and Robinson (B&R) with their expertise in creating outstanding hiking and cycling experiences. Amongst their thoughtful services are carbon road, hybrid and e-bikes at no extra charge. Space is limited and room selection is first-come first-served.
