The SPS-XRPD-3 Workshop has been cancelled due to the COVID-19/coronavirus outbreak.

The action to cancel SPS-XRPD-3 is being taken to protect the health of all workshop attendees, and the wellbeing of our entire community.

We apologize for this disruption to your plans. Thank you for your understanding. Also, please note that the APS is currently accepting proposals related to COVID-19 related research

Laboratory powder diffraction is a proven and trusted technique for pharma R&D but synchrotron powder diffraction pushes beyond the capabilities of conventional instrumentation. SPS-XRPD 3 will highlight the most exciting recent developments and opportunities in pharmaceutical R&D made possible by synchrotron XRPD. The meeting offers the chance to engage an active network of synchrotron, academic and industrial pharmaceutical scientists, promote awareness of this technique and lower the barriers to access synchrotron XRPD and total scattering techniques

The Spring Pharmaceutical Synchrotron X-ray Powder Diffraction (SPS-XRPD 3) Workshop, will take place on 18-20 May 2020, at the Advanced Photon Source, Argonne National Laboratory, USA. The meeting provides a forum to engage a network of user-facility, academic, and industrial XRD & pharmaceutical scientists in discussions on XRD and related techniques and their application to pharmaceutical science. It is the 3rd meeting in the series, following workshops at Purdue University, USA (2018) and the Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland (2019).

Coronavirus Update: New Site Access Protocols

To protect the health and wellbeing of Argonne National Laboratory employees, collaborators, and visitors, we continue to assess and adjust our response to the COVID-19/coronavirus outbreak. We rely on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to ensure that our decisions reflect the most current and accurate information.

Argonne National Laboratory requests that users and visitors who have traveled from or through a foreign country for which the CDC has issued a Warning Level 3 notice (avoid all nonessential travel) reschedule their visit to Argonne for a time at least 15 days after the date of their arrival in the United States.

We continue to ask all users and visitors who are ill, particularly if they are exhibiting respiratory symptoms, including fever, cough, and shortness of breath, to reschedule their visit and seek medical guidance.

This is a temporary measure that will help Argonne maintain a safe, healthy, and productive workplace. We appreciate your patience and willingness to minimize the spread of this virus.
