OCT - Odor Control Technician (In-Person) Raleigh, NC

CLASS OVERVIEW

Class Prerequisites:

None

*Prerequisites are to be completed before class. They are not included.

WHO IT'S FOR: Those working in residential and light commercial settings to resolve common odor problems.

WORK IT SUPPORTS: Odor-related complications in properties from damage or contamination. This course will help you become an expert in this discipline, from both a technical and a practical standpoint. 

COURSE OBJECTIVES

During this one-day course, you’ll learn all about the fascinating world of odor technology, from olfaction to the theory of odor control. As an Odor Control Technician, you’ll be able to help companies, families, and individuals salvage and restore material they may have otherwise thrown away. You’ll learn how to: 

• Identify the biological and chemical sources of odor, including decomposition, mold, combustion sources such as fire and smoke damage, and fuel oil spills or volatile organic chemicals;
• Implement the theory of odor control into the inspection and detection process; 
• Operate cleaning equipment, chemical options, and applications.

DETAILS

Once you pass the final exam with a 75% or higher, you’ll earn your Odor Control Technician certification. This course qualifies for 7 continuing education credits (CEC) with the IICRC.

RESCHEDULE AND TRANSFER POLICIES

! Failure to abide by classroom policies will result in removal from classroom spaces without refund.

All class registrations are non-refundable.

If you notify Aramsco that you are unable to attend your scheduled class 31 days or more before your class start date, you may:

• Transfer your seat to another individual of your choice, or
• Reschedule your amount paid toward another class date.

If you notify Aramsco that you are unable to attend your scheduled class 30 days or less prior to the scheduled class start date, you may transfer your seat to another individual of your choice for the same class date.

No other changes or rescheduling is permitted due to contractual commitments with the training organization and instructor.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS BY ARAMSCO

In the event that Aramsco cancels a class, we will make every reasonable effort to reschedule you for an alternative class based on your availability. A full refund will be issued if Aramsco is unable to provide an alternative class or determines that extenuating circumstances warrant a refund.

TRAVEL PLAN POLICY

When using flight travel for classes, we highly recommend using flexible/refundable flight tickets to avoid conflicts. Aramsco is not responsible for any travel-related losses involving travel or accommodation costs. If you have travel concerns, please reach out to education@aramsco.com before registering for your class.

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

Students attending Aramsco/Safety Express hosted in-person classes must adhere to the following Code of Conduct:

• Payment in full for each class is required prior to the class.
• Departures from the class must be kept to a minimum. (e.g., bathroom breaks, urgent contact)
• Smoking is not allowed within Aramsco facilities.
• The minimum contact time for each class requires that students must participate for the entirety of the class to be eligible to take the IICRC exam. If too much class time is missed, the student’s class registration fee and IICRC exam will be forfeited.
• Please make sure other arrangements are made for meetings, appointments, and child pick-up/drop-off needs.

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in the student’s removal from the class, in which case the student’s registration fee and IICRC exam will be forfeited.
