From advanced manufacturing and biotechnology to electrification, materials science, and advanced computing, emerging technologies are reshaping the way industries operate and innovate. The 2027 MIT Japan Conference will showcase cutting-edge research and entrepreneurial innovation from across MIT, highlighting breakthroughs in:
- Advanced Materials, Energy, and Electrification: low-emission metallurgy, advanced materials discovery, circular economy technologies, sustainable fuels and chemicals, and next-generation power electronics.
- Biology and Human Health: bioelectronic interfaces, synthetic biology, sensing and diagnostics, and new approaches to therapeutic development.
- Manufacturing and Industrial Innovation: advanced manufacturing, engineering design, industrial automation, intelligent operations, and technologies that enhance productivity and operational resilience.

Through faculty presentations, startup showcases, and discussions with leaders from academia and industry, participants will gain insight into how advances in materials science, biological engineering, electronics, computation, and manufacturing at MIT are translating into real-world applications. By bringing together researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from Japan and MIT, the conference aims to foster new collaborations and explore the technologies and partnerships that will shape the future of industry.
