Designing Sustainable Innovation Ecosystems Through University–Industry Collaboration
The UIDP Japan 2026 Forum is an in-person convening of university, industry, and government representatives focused on advancing Japan’s innovation ecosystem through strengthened university–industry collaboration.
Building on Japan’s strong research foundation, the forum explores how universities can serve, in addition to their research excellence, as strategic platforms that connect research, industry engagement, talent development, and venture creation within an evolving global landscape.
Discussions will address collaboration in the context of economic and research security, AI-driven transformation, and international partnership — with a focus on practical principles and institutional action.
UIDP Japan 2026 is designed as a one-day, high-impact working session complemented by optional site visits.

Join us for a full-day facilitated dialogue featuring plenary sessions, panel discussions, and structured breakout conversations focused on ecosystem development, institutional strategy, and multinational collaboration. Sessions will engage audience members in dynamic discussions, and all conversations operate under Chatham House Rules to encourage candid dialogue. To extend the experience, participants may register for site visits, designed to connect the workshop discussions to real-world environments.
