“Advanced Casing and Tubing Design through StrinGnosis” is a course designed by Blade for current and future users of their marquee Tubular Design and Wellbore Thermal Analysis program StrinGnosis™. This 3-day course combines theory and practice in an optimal mix so that attendees get a solid foundation in the principles of casing and tubing design, especially advanced topics, while simultaneously learning how to apply these principles in practice using StrinGnosis™. Theoretical content draws from Blade’s popular “Advanced Casing and Tubing Design” course, which Blade has presented over a hundred times since its introduction. Coverage includes conventional Working Stress Design, as well as advanced topics such as Limit State Design and Reliability-Based Design. Connection and materials selection are discussed, with a focus on practical application. In particular, connection limits and testing and design checks, and brittle failure design are covered. Special problems like multi-string analysis, annular pressure buildup, buckling, and post-buckling behavior, wellhead forces and movement, etc., are also covered. Coverage of each topic is followed by hands-on application using StrinGnosis™, to immediately crystallize learning and facilitate long-term retention. This fast-paced course is intended for practicing drilling and completion engineers, as well as other engineers wishing to become quickly proficient in the application of well design principles using a state-of-the-art tool. Familiarity with well design is expected of participants so that they can maximize their learning. At the end of the course, engineers should become very familiar with the principles and practice of casing and tubing design, and be able to apply their learning to practical well design using StrinGnosis™. Tuition: $2,500 USD
