Course Description
Successful aligner therapy begins with appropriate case selection. This course provides general dentists with a practical framework for identifying suitable candidates for SureSmile® Clear Aligners, evaluating case complexity, and determining when to treat or refer. Through clinical case examples, participants will explore common indications such as mild crowding, orthodontic relapse, and pre-restorative treatment, while recognizing cases that may require specialist care. The course will also review the role of digital treatment simulation, clinician-led lab support, and a structured clinical workflow in supporting predictable outcomes and informed patient communication.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify key patient characteristics associated with predictable aligner treatment, including oral health, compliance, expectations, and case complexity.
- Evaluate aligner case complexity to determine appropriate candidates for general practice treatment and recognize when specialist referral is indicated.
- Apply a practical case-selection framework and digital treatment-planning workflow to support clinical decision-making, patient communication, and treatment monitoring.
