Register now to attend the 2026 Annual BETA Symposium on October 28-29, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa in Huntington Beach, California.

The Symposium will be followed by a special introductory session on Friday, October 30, for new BETA HEART® (Healing, Empathy, Accountability, Resolution and Trust) participants and those interested in learning more about it.

Day One | October 28

We will kick off Day One with an Executive Leadership Retreat designed to help executive team members better understand their role in supporting, sustaining, and contributing to the overall success of BETA HEART. We will also host our annual Physician Roundtable Luncheon for members of your medical staff participating in BETA HEART.

Wednesday afternoon launches the Symposium’s educational content with engaging Plenary Sessions that explore timely issues, emerging trends, and key priorities in healthcare.

Day Two | October 29

We will host our Risk Management & Employee Safety, Patient Safety and BETA HEART breakout sessions, specifically focused on managing risk and promoting safe practices across all settings.

Risk Management & Employee Safety Breakout Track participants will hear from Dr. Rathke as he expands on Total Worker Health® and shares practical tools for building a resilient workforce. The track will also include a change management session focused on strengthening program success, as well as a member panel offering firsthand insights and lessons learned from the Employee Safety and Wellness Initiative.

Risk Management & Patient Safety Breakout Track participants will explore timely and innovative approaches to addressing emerging healthcare challenges. Sessions will include practical guidance for responding to immigration enforcement actions in healthcare settings and a presentation highlighting the development and impact of EmPATH Units in improving care for behavioral health patients in crisis. The track will also include interactive presentations from three BETA member organizations, showcasing successful innovations and lessons learned that attendees can apply within their own organizations.

BETA HEART participants are offered HEART in Action – BETA HEART Workshop III, where attendees will witness and participate in a HEART case taken from recognition to resolution, with a focus on the integration of all the domains of BETA HEART, tying it all together.

Day Three | October 30 – Intro to BETA HEART for New and Prospective Participants

Are you new to BETA HEART or interested in learning more about how this communication and resolution program will assist your organization in meeting the Patient Safety Structural Measure? This session will introduce all five domains of HEART. Learn how our comprehensive, principled and systematic approach to communication and resolution of harm events will transform your culture of safety, build an ethical response to harm and work to heal those impacted.

The Symposium will have all the elements you have come to expect, including sharing ideas and learning from other BETA members and exhibitors. We look forward to celebrating BETA Members’ achievements in employee and patient safety initiatives and BETA HEART participation among both BETA and IEHP Members at our Welcome Reception & Awards Dinner on October 28th.

Up to six (6) participants from each facility or insured medical group may attend.
