AI for Social Science Research Methods
Yale University · New Haven, CT
Kline Tower, 14th Floor
Bringing together scholars at the intersection of artificial intelligence and social science methodology for two days of presentations, posters, and dialogue.
About the Conference
Social scientists are increasingly integrating AI into research design, data collection, analysis, and workflows. As adoption accelerates, key methodological questions remain open: What principled approaches exist for validating measurements produced with AI tools? To what extent can AI-generated observations substitute for those from human respondents, and what are the implications for the future of survey research?
This conference brings together researchers advancing the methods of AI-enabled social science. We invite submissions that develop new methodological frameworks, propose evaluation strategies, introduce tools or benchmarks, or present empirical findings that clarify when and how AI strengthens or complicates social science inference.
Co-hosted by the Data-Intensive Social Science Center (DISSC), the Institution for Social and Policy Studies (ISPS), and the Center for Algorithms, Data, and Market Design (CADMY), the conference will convene a select group of scholars working on methodological innovation across sociology, economics, political science, public health, statistics, computer science, and related fields.
