General Information - Activity Director State Approved 36-Hour Certificate Course

Georgia Health Care Association is bringing you the Activity Director State Approved 36-Hour Training Course as a hybrid event.

The virtual portion of the course will be offered through an online learning platform (Pathways Health) which will allow attendees to participate virtually and track their progress. Additionally, participants are REQUIRED to attend the in person hands-on-training session on Friday, November 20 from 9:00am - 4:00 pm at the GHCA Headquarters located at 160 Country Club Drive, Stockbridge, GA 30281.

This flexible hybrid program combines self-paced online learning with interactive in-person sessions, giving participants the best of both worlds: convenience, hands-on practice, and real-time instructor support. Throughout the course, attendees will explore core principles of activity programming, person-centered care, documentation requirements, regulatory expectations, and innovative approaches to wellness-based engagement in today’s long-term care environment.

The in-person component provides valuable opportunities for networking, guided group exercises, and practical skill-building, while the online modules allow learners to progress at their own pace with videos, assignments, and downloadable tools they can use right away in their communities.

Upon completion, participants will be equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and foundational competencies needed to serve as an Activity Director and to lead meaningful, compliant, and creative activity programs that enrich the lives of older adults.

This course is approved by the Georgia State Department of Health and meets the regulatory requirements.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Accessing the Virtual Portion of the Training
- Login information to access the training will sent in an email from "Pathway Health" during the week prior to the start of the training (be sure to check your junk and spam folder). You are highly encouraged to test the link with the device you will be using to complete the course for compatibility. Please notify the support team lmsnotifications@pathwayhealth.com if you have not received your login information by 1:00PM the Friday before, or need assistance accessing the training.
- The virtual training with all sessions will be open for two (2) weeks and all courses must be completed during this timeframe. You may attend the sessions in any order and at any time you wish, but all most be complete in FULL by the close of the course.
- Tools Needed: High-speed internet, computer station equipped with audio, pen & paper.
- Your participation time will be tracked for each session attended. A competency test will be given at the end of each session and a pass rate of 85% or higher is needed to complete the session.
- Credit for each session is only given if the session time tracks FULL participation during the time allotted.
- All training materials and handouts will be available for download for each session.
- Attendance in all sessions and a passing rate of 85% or higher on all competency tests is required to receive your certificate.
In Person Day - Additionally, participants seeking their activity director certification are REQUIRED to attend the In Person Day training on November 20 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm at the GHCA Headquarters located 160 Country Club Drive, Stockbridge, GA 30281 .

November 20 In Person Day ONLY rate available. Do note, attending the in person day only will not certify you as an Activity Director. To receive your Activity Director Certificate of Completion, OnDemand and In Person Training required!

Registration fees must be paid in full to receive your certificate.

Cancellations: All cancellation requests must be in writing and may be emailed to info@ghca.info. A full refund will be granted for cancellations received within three (3) business days of the training. All "no-shows" and any cancellations received after this date will be responsible for the full cost of registration plus applicable processing fees. GHCA reserves the right to bill for any training materials ordered for this course.
