A dynamic increase in the development and use of immersive media tools and technologies is underway, transforming how we work, learn and appreciate the world around us.
At the University of Maryland, students, faculty and staff from six colleges and nine departments have come together to showcase their research and scholarship that is fueling new advances in science and health care, producing innovative education and training modules, and inspiring creative and socially-relevant artforms.
A keynote address by Marc Ruppel, UMD alumnus and program manager at the National Endowment for the Humanities, will highlight the impact and future of humanities-centered immersive media.
Organized by faculty and staff from the lmmersive Media Design (IMD) program and the Mixed/Augmented/Virtual Reality Innovation Center (MAVRIC), the goal of this event is to stimulate conversation that will open new pathways for increasing collaboration and support of all-things-immersive across the UMD campus.
