About Exporting: Today, it is more practical than ever for a company like yours, regardless of size, to sell goods and services across the globe. 95 percent of the world’s potential consumers are outside of the United States, and the global affinity for Made in USA products and services is second to none. Many exporters continue to boost their bottom line and build their competitiveness by selling to world markets, yet many are doing so without fully utilizing the resources available to them, or without complete understanding of the strategies and regulations that will ensure the greatest success.
About Export Univeristy: Export University is a series of courses designed to help U.S. companies gain a better understanding of international business issues and delve deeper into specific export topics. This course – Export University 101 - is focused on covering the various fundamentals of exporting and designed for businesses and individuals that are seeking an overview of the export process basics. The topics presented during this course will be relevant and helpful for companies - both manufacturers as well as service providers - who are newer to exporting, as well as those who are already global businesses seeking an update on the most recent policies that affect an exporting businesses. This full-day course includes an overview of:
- Getting started in exporting and developing an international plan
- Export documentation, duty/tariff rate determination, and logistics
- Financing and getting paid
- Legal and regulatory considerations
- Resources for success
Speakers will include experts from both the private sector and government resources.
The course fee of $45 covers all course materials, as well as lunch and refreshments. Proceeds are collected by the North Carolina District Export Council, a non-profit organization committed to strengthening North Carolina's role in the global marketplace. www.ncdec.us
