Course Summary
The McGill Fellowship in Oral Implantology is an exclusive, part-time clinical fellowship designed for practicing dentists who wish to build confidence and develop advanced skills in implant dentistry while continuing to work in private practice.
Limited to only two fellows per year, the program offers an exceptional level of individualized mentorship and hands-on clinical experience. Fellows attend the McGill Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences one day per week (Thursdays), where they work alongside experienced periodontists, prosthodontists, and oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the comprehensive management of implant patients.
Unlike short continuing education courses, this longitudinal fellowship emphasizes progressive clinical development through direct patient care under close faculty supervision.

- Comprehensive implant treatment planning
- Digital treatment planning and CBCT interpretation

- Immediate implant placement (when appropriate)

Admission Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a DDS, DMD, or equivalent dental degree
- Be licensed to practice dentistry
- Have successfully completed a basic implant course
- Demonstrate a strong interest in implant dentistry

- Proof of Quebec licensure
- Attestation detailing participation in a basic implant course
Eligible applicants will be further contacted by email for a personal interview with Dr. Thomas Nguyen.
Upon acceptance and admission into the fellowship, payment will then be collected through registration in Cvent.
Admission is competitive.
Only two fellowship positions are available each year.
Tuition
Full Tuition: $15000 CAD
Payable after admission into the Fellowship Program.
Certification
Upon successful completion of all fellowship requirements, participants will be awarded a:
Certificate of Fellowship in Oral Implantology
issued by the McGill University Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences.
