This course, offered by the Geotechnical Center of Excellence and based on the LOP Project's Guidelines for Open Pit Slope Design text, overviews the fundamental concepts and best practices for slope analysis and design throughout the life cycle of an open pit mine from project concept through closure. Participants will be provided with knowledge to aid in the investigation and design process, as well as guidelines for appropriate methods of data collection, processing, and analysis, all towards the goal of designing and maintaining stable and economical slopes.
