Optional Conference Field Trip

Join us for a guided tour exploring the connections between water management, wastewater treatment, restoration, and open space in the Middle Rio Grande Valley.

This field trip will take participants to a wastewater treatment plant, Open Space Shining River, and Bachechi Open Space, highlighting how water resources are managed, treated, conserved, and incorporated into healthy and resilient communities. At each site, participants will learn about local projects and approaches that address water quality, conservation, ecosystem restoration, and the relationship between water infrastructure and open space.

See these projects firsthand and hear from local experts about the challenges, successes, and ongoing efforts shaping water management and environmental stewardship in the Middle Rio Grande.

Hosted by the New Mexico Water Resources Research Institute, this special pre-conference field trip will take place on Friday, November 13, from 1:00 PM to approximately 5:00PM.

This is an optional, complimentary field trip for conference attendees, with transportation to all field sites provided. Additional meeting details coming soon.
