TRAVEL UPDATES
M25 CLOSED BETWEEN JUNCTIONS 10 AND 11 FROM 9 PM FRIDAY 21 MARCH UNTIL 5:30 AM MONDAY 24 MARCH
The M25 motorway will be closed between Junctions 10 and 11 in Surrey from 9pm Friday 21st March until 5.30am Monday 24th March to allow National Highways to demolish and remove a bridge which is no longer needed. Drivers are being urged to avoid the area unless their journey is “absolutely necessary”.
Among the people affected by this weekend’s closure will be those who need to travel to, from and between the UK’s two busiest airports, Heathrow and Gatwick.
It's that time of year again, the CSAE Conference will be back in person in Oxford, UK, from 23 to 25 March 2025. The Conference will have parallel sessions on a series of development economics topics alongside panels across the three day event.
The CSAE Conference brings together colleagues from across the development economics community to discuss Africa. We look forward to seeing you there!

PEDL Young Scholars Matchmaking Workshop 2025

To strengthen the links between young scholars in high- and low-income countries working in the rapidly growing field of entrepreneurship and private markets research, the Private Enterprise Development in Low-Income Countries (PEDL) programme, the Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Development and the Centre for the Study of African Economies are organising a matchmaking and project development workshop.
Growth Research Platform Policy Workshop
22 March 2025 - In person, Oxford, UK
The Growth Research Platform (GRP) is a new initiative led by the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). This first GRP event presents a day of panel discussions on key aspects of economic growth in low-income countries. The panels will bring together academics and policy practitioners who work at the intersection of the GRP programme’s research focuses – private enterprises, structural transformation, and economies in conflict.
CSAE Economic Development in Africa Workshop
This year the CSAE Economic Development in Africa Workshop will be hosted by the University of Pretoria in Pretoria, South Africa, from 03 - 06 December 2024.
The Workshop is for CSAE Conference 2025 funded speakers as well as students and staff at the University of Pretoria.
