The International Academy of Cytology offers two examinations. All applications for the IAC exams must be submitted for approval to the International Academy of Cytology. Applications are available on-line at the IAC website.

The International Academy Board of Cytopathology Examination
Medical members (MIAC) of at least two years membership with comprehensive voluntary examination covering all body sites. Further information, payment details, and the application form can be found at IAC International Board of Cytopathology. Deadline to apply is January 12, 2027.
The CT(IAC) Comprehensive Cytotechnology Registry Examination
Cytotechnologists with at least three years’ experience encompassing all fields of diagnostic cytology. Further information, payment details, and the application form can be found at IAC Registry for Cytotechnologists. Deadline to apply is January 12, 2027.
