The William E. "Pinky" Newell Address

The William E. "Pinky" Newell Memorial Address will be given by Past NATA District One Director, NATA Secretary/Treasurer and EATA Board member, Timothy Weston, MEd, ATC!

Tim Weston is the Director of Sports Medicine and Associate Athletic Director at Colby College where he has been since 1992. He also serves as the NCAA Athletics Health Care Administrator.

Weston did his undergraduate work at the University of Maine, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1988 and his master’s degree from University of Maine at Orono in Educational Leadership in 2004.

Weston previously served the Maine Athletic Trainers Association (MATA) in various leadership roles. He then went on to serve as the NATA District One Secretary and District One Director. During his time as NATA Board of Director he was liaison to the Honors and Awards committees and served as chair of the NATA Finance committee. Weston served as co-chair for the EATA ’75 anniversary and more recently served as mentor on the NATA Student Leadership Committee.

Presently he serves on the editorial advisory board for the NATA news and NATA Sports Medicine Legal digest and as Chair of the current NATA Presidential Oversight Task Force. He also is on the EATA long term planning committee.

Weston has received, the MATA “Bill Cox” Service Award, the NATA Service Award, the NATA Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award and has been inducted into both the MATA and NATA Hall of Fame as well as the EATA ’49 club. At Colby he has received the Mule Impact Award for Athletics.

Weston is an accomplished presenter, come hear his views on the future of our profession!!!!!
