2026 Southern Sleep Society Founders’ Award Abstract Submission Guidelines
Abstracts are currently being accepted for oral presentations at the 48th Annual Southern Sleep Society meeting, which will take place from April 16-18, 2026 at The Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel, Memphis, TN. The Southern Sleep Society's Annual Founders' Award competition is open to Fellows, Residents, and Interns who wish to participate. This award recognizes young investigators who submit abstracts on original work in Sleep Medicine. The meeting provides an excellent opportunity for Fellows, Residents, medical students, and young Investigators to gain experience presenting in front of a live audience.
The winner of the competition will receive a $500 stipend, while other participants will receive smaller awards. Additionally, all individuals who submit abstracts will be registered to attend the Southern Sleep Society meeting and must present their presentation in a 15-minute time slot. We will also provide support for one night's hotel accommodations and economy airfare for those traveling from out of town to the conference.
Presentations will be scheduled on either Friday or Saturday (4/17 and 4/18). The deadline for abstract submissions is December 31, 2025. Please submit all abstracts to Marietta Bibbs, Conference Planner at mariettabibbs@southernsleepsociety.org
Authors are required to write an original abstract. If an author chooses to include information from a previously presented or published abstract, all data must be current, updated, and rewritten. Abstracts should not exceed a word count of twenty-five hundred (2500) words, including the sections for introduction, methods, results, and conclusion. Abstracts will be accepted based on their scientific and clinical merit, and all submissions will undergo peer-review.
Please note that poster presentations may be presented but they are not eligible for an award.
