During the 26-27 school year, staff will engage in professional development planned by building leadership teams and aligned to the content of current or anticipated assignment. Some topics include:
- Guided Language Acquisition Design (GLAD) to support all students, including multilingual learners (MLLs)
- Best practices for literacy intervention, including UFLI 2.0 (UFLI + Orton Gillingham) and Brick and Mortar
- Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS): Tier I practices to set students up for success, including learning from "The Behavior Code" and strategies to regulate, relate and reason
- Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS): Analyzing student data in math and literacy, creating intervention plans, documenting progress, communicating with families, and adjusting interventions in response to data
- Shifting from compliance to information processing: Instructional Equity (in conjunction with Zaretta Hammond's book "Rebuilding Students' Learning Power")

Content standards for continuing education credit hours that apply to this PD are highlighted below.
The content and objectives of in-service continuing education credit hours must relate to one or more of the following:
(1) Opportunities for participants to collect and analyze evidence related to student learning;
(2) Professional certificate standards;
(3) Paraeducator standards of practice as described in Title 179 WAC;
(4) School and district improvement efforts;
(5) Education frameworks and curriculum alignment;
(6) Research-based instructional strategies and assessment practices;
(7) Content of current or anticipated assignment;
(8) Advocacy for students and leadership;
(9) Supervision, mentoring, or coaching; or
(10) Building a collaborative learning community.
