2027 California Dance Education Association Statewide Conference

Our 2027 statewide conference, Dance Origins: History, Community, and Culture celebrates the roots, evolution, and cultural significance of dance as a lived practice and art form. Conference attendees will engage in enriching discussions, movement workshops, and presentations which center the history and origins of diverse dance forms and movement practices.

This conference will illuminate dance forms which have historically been marginalized and “othered” in the canon of dance and dance education. Our goal is to create an environment for dance educators to discover, collaborate, share, and experience authentic ways of moving and teaching while centering differing historical and cultural perspectives in dance education.
