Identity and Belonging: Nationalisms and Resistance in the World Today, will bring together partners from across the globe , staff of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and United Church of Christ, and church leaders in South Africa to explore the growing impact of nationalism around the world and the resistance movements that are emerging in response. Through theological reflection, socio-political analysis, and engagement with local communities, participants will examine how nationalism affects marginalized populations, fuels exclusion, migration, and conflict, and inspires movements of resistance. The gathering will foster global solidarity, deepen understanding across diverse contexts, and equip participants with strategies for education, advocacy, and faithful action in support of justice, inclusion, and a decolonized approach to mission.
